I wanted to add a feminist touch to some of my clothes.... so I decided to make a feminist symbol patch and stitched it to a black t-shirt.
The first thing you need to do is to search a feminist symbol you want to copy or to draw it directly. Then you need to create the pattern on a piece of fabric you like. There are several ways to do it: I traced first the silhouette, then the elements inside it, and cut them separately. Then I put them on a piece of fabric, traced them again and cut the resulting symbol.
Once you have all the pieces on fabric you have to choose where you want to place it. That's the easiest step!
Then you need to stitch the pieces on the shirt or whatever piece of clothing to want to decorate. You need to stitch it well to make sure that once you sew it, it doesn't move or bulge.
Here's the result of the stitch. Once you have done it, the last thing you need to do is to sew it permanently.
I used a sewing machine to sew the patch. But you can do it by hand using the correct stitch. There's an especific hand stitch to sew patches. On internet you can find a tutorial.
And here it is! A great feminist patch on a t-shirt to vindicate the women place in this world!
