A lot of use those little nylon netted body scrubs with the string. I call them "poofs." My husband hates that name. lol The thing is they never last very long, always snag and well, isn't very DIY. Felting your soap is a great, easy, natural way to always have a washcloth with your bar of soap (preferably handmade soap). The wool encases the soap so you can just wet the bar and scrub it on your skin. It's great for facial bars as the wool is a wonderful exfoliate. Also, the felted wool helps the soap last longer.

Lay your towel on a table or counter top. Arrange what colors of wool roving you want to use and unwrap the bar of soap. I like the soap to be able to fit easily in my hand, so I cut this bar in half. Fill your large bowl with hot water.
Spread out the wool roving and place soap in it.
Wrap the wool around the soap making sure it's entirely covered. Add any other colors of wool to create different looks.
Start by dribbling some of the hot water onto the wool. Do not dunk the soap into the bowl. Make sure the wool is completely wet but not soaked.
Start by squeezing the wool down into the soap. Keep adding more hot water from the bowl. You can roll the soap around in your hands. Massage it like you're washing your hair or like you're really scrubbing your hands. It's going to get really sudsy and soapy at this point. You can also take a felt board, or a bamboo sushi mat and scrub the wool and soap on that to help it felt down.
Take more hot water from the bowl and splash some onto the bar to see how it's coming along. The wool should be shrinking down and tightening around the soap. Your different colors of roving should be sticking to each other.
When the soap feels really snug in the wool and you can't push any more of the wool around, rinse it in cold water. Pat the soap dry on your towel (there still may be a little bit of suds and that's okay.) Now allow your soap to air dry. Whenever you want to use it, just get it wet and wash!
