felt tote bag with ribbon strap

This tote bag is made from four sheets of felt (11x17). I used two orange and two green. I cut the sides from one orange sheet by folding it in half length wise and cutting it. The bottom is cut from the end of the other orange sheet with the left over used for the pocket. The straps are made from a continuous strip of ribbon. I used a striped rayon grosgrain. You can see from the photo how I attached it before sewing the bag together. The selvage is on the outside for this bag, but I think that looks good. The bag is roomy and sturdy. I also like making things without patterns!
