Inspired by Tabby's clover-and-sakura project (at http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/felt-four-leaf-clover. Thank you, Tabby), I modified the size of the sakura petals slightly and added a dash of colour to the blossoms.

Cut out the pink felt (petal) pieces according to the shown shape and desired size. You would need five separate petals for each sakura (cherry blossom).
First, string all five petals into a row using a similarly-coloured embroidery thread. Next, once you are done with threading them together, pull the thread so that the petals are bunched up together. Lastly, tie the string together to secure the petals in place.
You could also try using a greater range of colours for a prettier effect of sakura blossoms. Have fun!
