I love Pumpkins and when discussing the Halloween school sale with someone I thought of these. They also make fun party decorations or gifts. I love the Ghost Pumpkins and they seems to be the favorite. A PDF pattern is available from my Etsy site if you would prefer. Have fun :D

Start by cutting your felt, I usually get 3 or 4 from one piece. Easiest way is to fold in half then half again so you have 4 rectangle strips. Using doubled cotton thread, sew a running stitch along the bottom of one piece and then pull up tight and secure.
Making sure the gathered end is on the inside, sew the ends together, leaving the top open. Now add some filling.
You will need a suprising amount of stuffing, push down. sew a running stitch around the top, but do dot secure yet.
Cut a small rectangle for the stalk, roll up tight and put a couple of stiches in to hold it in place.
Place stalk in the centre top of your pumpkin, take the needle through the filling to the base, pull and leave.
Now this is the first fiddly bit, pull the gathering at the top tight whilst holding stem in place and pushing stuffing in, adding more if you need to. Sew end in place. Then secure the stem thread at the base to prevent it being pulled out of the top.
Well done you have a pumpkin! Now for the finishing touches. CAREFUL of your finger tips Using orange cotton or green for the white pumpkin secure end of thread by the stalk base then take it over the side. Push the needle up through the base centre, up througn the filling and bring the needle out by the stem base. Pull tight, it stops the thread snapping if you squash the pumpkin about to take the pressure off.
Repeat this step 7 more times to create the pumpkin shape.
Now for the fun part, cut out your eyes, nose and mouth. Hold in place and sew in place, you could clue on for speed.
