Felt Grover
Make your own felt Grover!

About
I made this felt Grover to keep my earlier two Sesame street-inspired felt projects (Cookie Monster and Elmo, inspired by Caz' felt magnet versions) company and for my sister who loves Grover.
Here's a suggested step-by-step version to make Grover's face in felt. Have fun! :)

You Will Need (5 things)
- Black Felt
- White Felt
- Red Felt
- Pink Felt
- Dark blue Felt
Steps (10 steps, 90 minutes)
-
1
First, find a clipart image of Grover online that you are happy with.
You may wish to modify the size of the felt project accordingly. -
2
Prepare the necessary colours of felt pieces for stitching Grover, which would include dark blue, pink, red, black and white felt and the needful embroidery thread.
-
3
Prepare an additional piece of dark blue felt cut to the shape of Grover's head as backing for the face.
-
4
Beginning with the top part of Grover's face, stitch the black pupils on each of the eyes, which are positioned as slightly slanted towards both ends on Grover's face.
Then, stitch both eyes onto the face.
-
5
Next, stitch the nose in between Grover's eyes, as shown.
It helps to keep referring to your chosen clipart image to check that your felt project is turning out fine.
-
6
When preparing the felt pieces for the bottom part of Grover's face, take care to cut out an extra border of dark blue felt along the top so as to allow the top half of the face to overlap over the bottom at the end of this project.
-
7
For the lower part of Grover's face, stitch the black felt for the mouth.
Then, stitch the semi-circular red felt (for the lips) around the black felt.
-
8
Stitch the completed top part of Grover's face over (the extra border of dark blue felt) such that it overlaps the completed bottom part of his face.
-
9
Stitch the backing onto Grover's face and fill this plushie with stuffing.
