I LOVE felt. I made this one day when I needed something to wear for the races. SO much cheaper that buying one! Plus you get the satisfaction of saying, "Thanks, I made it" ;)

Cut the shape you want for the base out of cardboard. Measure it to your head and make sure you are happy with the size. Once the fascinator is finished it will be a bit bigger with all the flowers stuch on so keep that in mind too. Apply glue to both sides of the card and cover in felt. You want one piece of card between one folded piece of felt.
You want to keep a bit of a curve to the base so it sits nicely on your head. Leave to dry hanging over the glue bottle. This is great because gravity helps to give you that curve.
Once the glue is dry cut around the shape of the base.
Cut flowers from felt.
Thread three beads onto a piece of wire and tie it together to form a triangle making sure to leave a fair length at one end of the wire. You will see why in step 7.
Poke the wire through the centre of the flower.
Wind the excess wire around the beads on the back side of the flower. This will make the beads appear to be set into the flower rather than just sitting on top.
Like this. :) Make a bunch more of these. Make some smaller ones too using just one bead in the centre.
Arrange the flowers on the base and glue them down. You need a nice strong glue for this. I highly recommend UHU All Purpose. AMAZING GLUE. (not non toxic, if you are working with kids you should do this part for them.) Finished! I designed this piece to be pinned on my head with bobby pins. You could also attach a clip if you prefer.
