I have been creating some Christmas ornaments out of felt for my Christmas tree and to give to my family this year as small gifts. They are quick and easy to make and can be made in loads of different designs. Here is how I made the Robin Decoration.
I have been creating some Christmas ornaments out of felt for my Christmas tree and to give to my family this year as small gifts. They are quick and easy to make and can be made in loads of different designs. Here is how I made the Robin Decoration.
Things you will need: Felt (brown, red and yellow) Needle and thread Buttons Stuffing 12cm of a narrow ribbon
Step 1: Cut out the felt pieces using the attached template.
Step 2: Sew the red belly and wings onto the main body of the robin. Do the same with the second body but make it a mirror image of the first.
Step 3: Sew the button eyes onto the robin.
Step 4: Pin the ribbon (used to hang your bird on the tree) and beak into place.
Step 5: Stitch the two parts of the robin’s body together. As you stitch round the body switch from a blanket stitch to a running stitch to sew the ribbon and beak into place. When you have almost stitched the whole way round stuff the robin and stitch the remaining section.
Step 6: Your robin is ready to hang on the Christmas Tree
