My daughter's best friend wanted to do the "Sisters" dance from White Christmas at her wedding with her matron of honor (my daughter). I volunteered to make them feather fans. I found a tutorial online for non folding fans using a 1/4 round of foam core board as the base. I ordered 28 jade colored 16" ostrich feathers from Fancy Feather for about $60. I bought embroidery floss to match. Following instructions I hand sewed the long feathers to the foam core base. Some feathers are sewed on the front, others on the back. I then sewed some white feathers in front to fill in the empty spots. Then I glued trim to the very bottom of the fan to cover up the feather bottom quills. The 2 young women did a great job with their dance!
