A simple hairclip with a thousand variations to wear! With this simple feather chain we’ve just made — replace the hairpin with a earhook and you have a glamourous cocktail earring. Or even just pin it behind your ear to give that illusion! (Also seen in the photos, worn as a headband and braided in a french braid) The model is my lovely friend with nice and long flowy hair, Veron.

First things first, I’ll like to point out that there are two variations to the feathers available! You might find that some feathers are softer to the touch and more natural looking while the others look more structured and stiff (Quill feathers). It’s really personal preference but I chose to use the softer and organic feathers!
Prepare a chain of a suitable length — You might want to use your hair length as a reference. I went with about 20cm. It might be useful at this point to mark out the gaps between where you want the feathers to be the total number of feathers you want to have.
Picking the best feathers, secure the end clasps to the shaft of the feather.
You should have “feather charms” that look like this after you’re done.
One by one, attach the feather charms onto the chain using jump rings.
It should look something like that after you’re done. Remember to attach the last feather to the very last chain link, but leave a gap at the top of the chain in preparation for the next step!
To complete, simply slide a hairpin through the top link of the chain and we’re done!
