Carefully pull off all of the existing fabric from the chair. We used the claw of a hammer and some pliers to help pry off the fabric and staples.
Mark the placement on each piece of fabric you pull off so you can use it as a cutting pattern for the new fabric.
Paint the chair if required. We chose a dark grey that would go well with the fabrics we chose.
Center the base of the chair on the underside of the fabric. (We chose to use a faux seal skin rug.) Use a staple gun to attach it. Start from the center on each side, making your way out to the corners.
At the corner, tuck in the front edge until the side one has a straight fold aligned with the corner edge.
Upholster the front piece of the chair back in the same way that the seat fabric was attached. It’s okay that the staples show at the back because it will be covered by the second piece shown here. Simply fold over the raw, cut edge to the inside and then attach it by hammering in some nice, shiny, silver tacks.
