Using tissue paper and decoupage you can add a faux leather, raw hide looking texture to a variety of surfaces. I added this texture to several plain card board storage boxes and shoe boxes.

You Will Need (6 things)
- Shoe Box
- Tissue Paper
- Craft Paint
- Decoupage
- Paper Towels
- Clear Coat
Steps (4 steps, 300 minutes)

1
Rip tissue paper into strips and then crumple it up a bit. Using decoupage, apply the tissue paper to both the bottom and top of a shoe box or any kind of card board box. Cover with several layers allowing a little drying time in between.
-
2
Paint all the boxes and lids with several coats of a tan colored craft paint. Let dry.
-
3
Next give a coat of medium brown colored craft paint, and then gently rub off some of the paint with a soft damp cloth or paper towel.

Repeat the step above but with a darker brown colored craft paint. Repeat until you have the desired look of raw hide or faux leather. Let dry completely and then spray with a satin, water based clear coat.
