I saw this scarf in many places around the web, and loved it! I decided to take it a step further and decorate it with fake pearls.

Description

I saw this scarf in many places around the web, and loved it! I decided to take it a step further and decorate it with fake pearls.

Instructions

  1. Small dscn2873 1271504985

Prepare your highly elaborate equipment and materials: An old brightly colored tee Scissors A strand of fake plastic pearls

  2. Small dscn2874 1271505472

Cut your shirt right below the sleeves, and you're supposed to remain with a rectangular piece of fabric

  3. Small dscn2875 1271505557

Start cutting your fringe from the side where the sleeves were up to a couple of inches from the hem (behold my crappy fabric cutting skills! fear them!)

  4. Small dscn2876 1271505662

When you're finished cutting, the scarf in making will look similar to the picture <-----

  5. Small dscn2877 1271505823

Pull the fringe a bit so it curls and becomes thinner and longer

  6. Small dscn2878 1271506459

Cut up your pearl strand into shorter versions. Mine were already glued to the strand, but if yours are'nt you can tie the ends or paint them with clear nail polish

  7. Small dscn2879 1271507350

Sew your strands between the fringes. I had just enough to do a 2-2 pattern (two strands followed by two empty spaces)

VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!! Take a wierd and silly pic of yourself rocking your new scarf!
