my dearest friend Jeroen Muller died a year ago, suddenly tooo young, (44 years). He was the founder of our organisation Disability Affairs With his three friends , (inclusief me) LOL we became his board members. He was a great friend and did a lot for the better rights for disabled persons in Holland. They aren't soo great like in some other countries. In some countries it's normal to behave to an persone with a disabled body normal, but in Holland it is still a big discrimation reason-S We don't still having the same rights like other people-S Bbecause of his other jobof being a polictican, that party have gave birth of the Jeroen Muller prize in honour of Jeroen for the best driveable building in Holland. Yesterday it was the first year of the pize to give a way. Because Jeroen was one of my best friends, i would like to got the permission to make the art gift. I had allready a great plan that would honour his friendship and his humour and all the other things i loved of him and his live and ideas as well. So i asked my board members for permission and they liked the idea of me. That was the reason why i needed the webbing for the torch shape lamp to made. It was great to made this design to remember Jeroen and thinking of all the fun we had together, sometimes a little bit sad as well. I have used on the torch shape our pictures of the exibition : living in the wild. I have made them in the right colours of our logo and printed them on fabric, and then i embroidered on the big name tag (a picture of Jeroen) the letters. and glued of the same size (tinny smaller) a piece of cotton underneat the name tag on the shade. Don't know how long it took I was those months sooo ill because of a long virus infection so it took me more time to made this then in real. so perhaps it will cost you lesser time and myself as well;-D this wasn't expensive because i used a lot of old material i really had only i had to buy a new green bulb and a pin contact. the winner a dutch company in Utrecht Seats and Meats got the prize , he loved it and was very enghousiastic with his gift, and the party members where proud too of the art gift so they have given me the permission to make the next ones too;-D It was great to see the others and his family again.
