I was watching a youtube video of a fairy kei girl and she was wearing a pair of really cute cufflets. I was actually amazed when she said that she bought them. Then I got to thinking... "I could probably make those.." So, here is a tutorial of how I did it, but, please remember that this is the first time that I made these, and the light really washes them out.. I should have turned on my over head light, it would have killed my eyes though... Anyways, enjoy! ( =

Instructions

  1. Small materials

These are the things that you will need: Scissors Thread (I used thin crochet cotton because it's stronger than traditional thread) Elastic Pins Lace (the pink and white one is NOT the brand Stretch Magic, I'm just using the spool thing to store it better, I don't remember the actual brand of lace) Measuring tape And, I don't really know what to call the other thing... I think it's something that's supposed to go around a Christmas tree, I didnt end up using it) (Helpful hint: I don't recommend using a sewing machine, I think it will be too harsh for this, but use whatever you wish)

  2. Small tr

Measure around your wrist for the lace. You don't have to add any extra to this though but you can if you wish.

  3. Small ste 1

I used two different laces, a mint green one, and a white one with little redish pink hearts. If you are using two (or more) different kinds of lace, make sure that they are the same length. Or not, depending on what you want to do.

  4. Small stp 2

Cut your elastic. Make sure that you add about 6 cenimetres (2 inches) to the end because you will lose some of the stretch when you sew on the lace. I forgot about this fact and ended up having to restart..

  5. Small geg

Pin the lace to the elastic.

  6. Small 5

Sew the lace to the elastic.

  7. Small 6

Make sure it still fits. You can sew the two pieces together, but I just left mine because I didn't want to accidentally rip the lace if I take it off too quickly.

  8. Sew the other layers on as well. Everytime you make a stitch, check to make sure it hasn't gotten smaller.

If you have more than one layer, it should look like this when you spilt them.

You're finished! Enjoy your new fairy kei inspired cufflets. Have fun with these and make them your own! Add ribbon, beads, pretty much anything you want ( = Hope you enjoy making these, and good luck.
