Those fabric swatches from textile shops used to showcase their stock of textile designs can be upcycled for your plain throw pillow covers. Some textile shops give away these swatches and they throw out old swatches that aren't in their stock anymore. You can ask to have them instead.
Those fabric swatches from textile shops used to showcase their stock of textile designs can be upcycled for your plain throw pillow covers. Some textile shops give away these swatches and they throw out old swatches that aren't in their stock anymore. You can ask to have them instead.
Grab some fabric swatches from your local textile shops.
Remove the staple that binds them together. Most likely there is also a sticky paper adhered at the back to make the fabric less flimsy, just peel that off as much as you can.
Choose the swatch that complements the color of your plain throw pillow covers. Here are my plain covers that I think are just soul mates with the fabric swatch,right!
Fold in about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch of the fabric then pin it over the throw pillow cover. Turn it inside out. Then sew it up from the inside of the cover. Do not let your stitch show from the outside. Sew from where the folded area is.
Voila! You now have turned your plain covers to something gorgeous.
