hot damn
Ok. So!
I'm a recent convert to Konad Nail Stamps thanks to Miss80Million here on your very own cutout+keep. On one of the threads I noticed someone asked if you could use your own etching plate to print from. Now this is a wonderful idea! If only, eh? Well I eventually found my old plates (hidden in a box) and tried it out. And HOT DAMN my friends, it frikkin WORKS! It works BEAUTIFULLY!
The following photos don't show it off well enough, because I just did a very quick job of it to test it, but when I do this properly I'll post a version with my new shiny pics :D
Dewds I totally want to see if any of you do it too! This is SO AWESOME! ><!!!!!!!!!

*ahem*

*commencement of 'how-to'.....now*

The left nail is from the feather plate on step 5, and the middle nail from the one above :)

After this, of course you'd take away the excess that printed onto your skin with some nail varnish remover, and do a clear top coat to stop all your lovely hard work chipping away. Clean all your equipment (Konad kit and etching plates) with nail varnish remover.

etching is a lot more complicated, you probably couldn't do it with things you'd have at home, you really need to go to a proper etching studio where they'll have the special wax and the acid baths etc etc. I did mine when I was at uni because they had all the equipment set up and a technician telling me exactly what to do! I'd recommend searching on the internet for a nearby uni or public studio where they could help you make your own etched plate.
