You Will Need (1 thing)
- Nail Polish
Steps (9 steps, 35 minutes)
-
1
After applying a base coat, randomly paint on strokes of blues using the brush inside the bottle.
-
2
repeat using a light purple, slightly over lapping and filling in negative space.
-
3
repeat with lime green.
-
4
Add pink, yellow, orange and a darker blue in smaller random specks. All brush strokes should be irregular to have a more natural look. Keep in mind this stone is primarily blue in color so as to not completely cover up the lighter blue.
-
5
using a sheer nude (like that from a traditional french manicure) apply a thin coat to create a cloudy look.
-
6
sprinkle light blue and or white micro glitter lightly over entire coat.
-
7
Add a second layer of the sheer nude.
-
8
using a thin needle brush make random irregularly shaped dots using all the colors previously used.
-
9
Using either a cellophane glitter polish or loose cellophane glitter place or paint on pieces to give that final iridescent shine to the opal. You can also add a few dots of white to mimic a stronger shine. Finish with top coat.
