First of all, I´m sorry for not having any pics by now, I´ll take them, when I´ll sew the next pouch, promised :) To get a enveloppe first draw 5 oblongs on the fabric(s) and another 3 oblongs on the fusible fleece: 2 of the same size and one the same widh but 3 times longer than the a fabric oblong (fusible interfacing would be better). The size for a credit-card guzzeling pouch should be 8,5 cm wide and 7 cm high. I prefer 10,5 x 8,5 cm, because our german passports then can be stored in there well ;) cut all oblongs out, but allways include the seam allowance.
Sew togehter 3 of the fabric oblongs on their wide sides. Then iron on the fusible interfacing on the left side of each fabric oblong, the big interfacing now schould fit on the 3 oblongs you just sewed togehhter. If you´d like to sew ribbons on the outside of your pouch: now ist the right time to do so ;)
Sew together the last two oblongs right on right, leave a little space to flip them over. This will be the dividing for the inside pocket.
Take the big oblong, that will become the outside of your pouch. decide, which side schould be the fastening at the end and carefully cut in the seam between this part and the middle oblong as wide as the seam allowance is (on both sides).
Put the dividing on the middle of the big oblong (right side on rightside) so that the upper angle closes up with the cuts in the big oblong. Fix both sides with pins. Cut a piece of en whider ribbon or fabric (ca. 4 x 2 cm), arrange the spring hook on it , put it on the fixed dividing, so thet the hook now lies on the fabric, not outside, a small part of the ribbon should stick out on the seam a little. Then carefully fold the lower part of the big oblong that it also closes up with the cuts and the dividing. carefully fix with the pins again. You now schuold see a kind of fusing interfacing - pouch.
Sew the sides together. Cause of the folding, there is no need to sew the bottom. I happens, that the buch of interfacing and fabric (there are 4 layers by now) are too much for your sewing machine using "normal" needles. I made best experiences with needles for denim or leather.
Sew the hem around the sides of the fastening. If you left enough seam allowance you now can fold the seam twice to the inside, so you´ll get a nice, accurate and professional seam. The cuts should help you folding the hem and having the same whide as the rest of the pouch.
Flip over the pouch from inside to outside and take special care of the lower corners, they might don´t want to come out without a little helb of a pencil or the (closed!) scissors. Add a press stud or button as you like, if needed sew a matching buttonhole as well. Decorate your enveloppe by stitching or stick on ribbons, a bow, a cameo or what ever you´d like to :) FINÈ :O) Thanx and feel free to come up with questions and ideas :)
