Entrelac Notions Keeper

Easy entrelac bag

I like this entrelac thing but I didn't want to comment miles of yarn to an entrelac scarf. I needed a little bag to keep my knitting notions so I cast on 24 (enough for 4 base triangles) and knitted until I had the size I needed. I blocked and folded the rectangle over. I lined it with some dupioni silk and added a zipper. I love it. Think I will make smaller ones for my bank cards and bizz cards.

I like this entrelac thing but I didn't want to comment miles of yarn to an entrelac scarf. I needed a little bag to keep my knitting notions so I cast on 24 (enough for 4 base triangles) and knitted until I had the size I needed. I blocked and folded the rectangle over. Instructions

  1. Small img 1093 1261958182

Cast on 24 stiches of worsted weight yarn and knit entrelac pattern with a 6 stich repeat for the base and diamonds. Follow the tutorial for making an entrelac scarf if you need some practice.

After you bind off wet the yarn and roll the excess water out with a towel. Pin the edges down-blocking the piece. If you have cats beware. My cat loves to torment all knitting projects.

The blocked piece is ready to be lined. I sewed the lining to the zipper first. Then I hand sewed the finished entrelac piece to the lining and the zipper. I forgot to get a picture of that process but as I plan to make another smaller bag I will try to post pictures then. Attach a funny button and viola! Fill with notions.
