I'm making a lot of brooches and stuff with capsules these days, so I'm constantly thinking about new designs, and I was actually in the process of making something else when this came to mind.
I'm making a lot of brooches and stuff with capsules these days, so I'm constantly thinking about new designs, and I was actually in the process of making something else when this came to mind.
First you need to smash the capsule. The easiest and fastest way to do it is stepping on it (it was actually my nephew who taught me this technique). The other way to do it is smashing it with a hard instrument or a hammer.
What you have now is a circular thing with 3 holes in the middle. Copy it on paper (holes included). This is so you can draw the design and know beforehand were the wire is going to go. The dotted line means that the wire goes behind the capsule after the nose and goes front for the smile.
Insert the wire in hole #1, make a swirl -> make another swirl -> make the nose -> insert the wire in hole #2 and take it out through hole #3 -> make the smile -> insert the wire in hole #3
Now you just gotta "knot" the extra wire in the back and attach/glue a piece of felt and the brooch back or safety pin. And that's it!
