Beef Empanadas

You Will Need (16 things)

  • Dough

  • 2 1/4 cup Plain Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Butter 115 g / 4 oz
  • 1 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Water Iced
  • Filling

  • 1/2 lb Beef
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 cup Tomato Sauce Or puree

Steps (13 steps, 60 minutes)

    Dough...

    Mix the flour & salt together.

    Rub the butter in to resemble breadcrumbs.

    Add the egg.

    Mix together.

    Add enough water to bring the mixture into a dough.

    Wrap in cling film & put in the fridge for atleast an hour.

    Filling...

    Brown the mince, onion & garlic together.

    Add the paprika, cumin & salt.

    Stir through.

    Add in the tomato sauce.

    Cook for a few mins.

    Add the boiled eggs.

    Set aside to cool.

    Assembly...

    Roll out the dough.

    Cut into circles.

    Half Fill the circles with the filling.

    Seal the edges with egg.

    Fold over.

    Crimp the edge with a fork to make a tight seal.

    Brush the top with egg.

    Heat oven 200 degrees.

    Bake for 20-30 mins.
