This week, I'm going to shake things up a bit. Guest post, a home goods DIY on Friday, AND I'm offering you my first ever edible DIY! While I love cooking, I'm not the most consistent with it. So when I do cook, it's often involved and decadent foods, like pizza from scratch, chicken pot pie or baked goods. Every holiday season, I make the official candy of my home state Ohio, BUCKEYES. Real buckeye nuts from the tree are poisonous, but (barring any allergies) these are not. In fact, they are devilishly delicious, and I always give a batch to my boyfriend's family, who, as lifetime New Yorkers, have never seen a real buckeye.

In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter, butter...
vanilla and confectioners' sugar.
The dough will look dry and crumbly.
Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Place in the freezer to set for at least 30 minutes.
Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave or using a double boiler on the stove. Remove peanut butter balls out from freezer. Using toothpicks, dip the frozen balls into the melted chocolate.
Leave part of the peanut butter exposed to look like the buckeye nut. Once the chocolate sets, they are ready to eat! Keep refrigerated until serving.
This poor guy was the last of the batch, but it'll still taste great.
