Create a work of art on empty packaging, and be proud of yourself for keeping a bit of packaging out of the landfill. I made a mixed media collage...You could draw on the surface, make color wheels, or even cut into smaller pieces to create small art cards.

Instructions

1. Break down a cereal box or other cardboard box and gesso the front and back of one of the largest pieces.

2. Once the gesso dries, the sky is the limit! I chose to paint a background color in taupe, then added some collage circles with glue and origami paper.

3. Add layers of paint, draw with paint markers, etc. Finish the work with a layer of gloss varnish or sealant. You can glue on a bit of ribbon for displaying the work on the wall.
