- Canvas Painter's Dropcloth
- Staples
- Cotton Batting
- 10 buttons Cover Button Kit
- Upholstery Thread
- Hand Sewing Needle
- Staple Gun
- Cardboard sheet
- 2x4 Wood (enough for size of bed)
- Wood Screws
- Hand Drill

Steps (9 steps, 180 minutes)
-
1
Build the frame of the headboard to the desired size bed. This headboard I made to fit a queen size bed. (68" Wide x 60" Tall) Cut 2 -2x4 boards to the length of 60" and 3 boards at 68".
-
2
Using a hand drill attach boards together at desired head board size.
-
3
Next, cut and staple cardboard to the shape of the headboard area. (Use an old big enough box that you can breakdown that will fit the size entirely)
-
4
Spray adhesive to cardboard front side and adhere cotton batting to the size of the cardboard.
-
5
Stretch drop cloth canvas over batting and tightly staple to the back of the headboard.
-
6
Make buttons with canvas cloth using button covers.
-
7
Measure or eye button placement and then thread button through front of headboard and tie thread tightly to the back of the cardboard giving a slight tufted look.
-
8
Pull all buttons through the cover staple the back with more fabric to hide the backside.
-

Drill holes through the bottom legs of headboard that match to the bed frame. Lastly attach bottom legs to a metal bed frame using bolts.
