You Will Need (1 thing)

  • T Shirt

Steps (9 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Find an old t shirt and some fun fabric.

  2. 2

Cut off the sleeves. Pin and sew the sides to fit. Cut t shirt to your waist length.

  3. 3

Cut the fabric to the length you need plus a half inch for the hem. The width should be your hip width plus 7 or so inches.(More or less depending on how full you'd like the bottom of your dress to be.)

  4. 4

For the hem, turn under a quarter of an inch twice and stitch.

  5. 5

Mark the middle and the sides of your shirt.

  6. 6

Use the longest stitch to gather the top of the skirt.

  7. 7

Right sides together, matching the sides and centers, pin and sew the top of the skirt to the bottom of the shirt.

  8. 8

Stretch a piece of quarter inch elastic around your waist, stretch slightly to desired tightness. Using a zig-zag stitch sew elastic long the seam allowance stretching slightly as you sew.

  9. 9

    Enjoy your new dress!
