This is a great little sewing project that only require 1 yard of fabric. No pattern is needed!
Materials you will need for this project.
Finish the top edge and the bottom edge with serger. If you don't have a serger, you can use zig zag stitch or fold up the edge 1/4" twice and stitch in place.
Measure 11" from the top edge and mark it.
Stitch the two edges together from the mark to the bottom.
Press the seam open.
Fold the top edge toward the wrong side, 11" Pin in place.
This will be your opening for elastic casing.
Make the elastic casing by stitching all around, The casing is 1/2" apart.
Keep stitching the rows 1/2" apart.
Keep stitching till you get 17 to 20 rows depending on your chest size. The bigger your chest, the more rows.
Cut your elastic 2" shorter than your chest measurement. For example, 29" chest, cut 27" long elastic.
Attach the safety pin to one end of the elastic and insert it through the opening.
Make sure you pin the end of the elastic as you pull the elastic all the way.
Stitch the elastic together.
Repeat the same for the next row and the next.
This is what it should look like after all the elastics are inserted.
Hem the bottom edge. Fold up the edge 1/2" up and stitch in place. You are done!
