Description

This scarf is so easy to make. All you do is tie knots. The most tedious part would probably be cutting the yarn.

Instructions

  1. Small photo0090

Cut 36 strands of yarn, 140 inches long each. Group them into groups of 6. I used worsted weight yarn, about 1/3 skein. If you use bulkier yarn you can cut about half the amount of strands.

  2. Small photo0091

Tape the yarn to a wall or the floor. It helps to tie knots at the ends of each group of 6 so that the yarn stays together. Then, tie square knots so you form 3 groups of 2 (pictured).

  3. Small photo0092

Tie the middle groups so that you now have a row of 2 knots.

  4. Small photo0093

Below the row of 2, tie knots again to form a row of 3.

  5. Small photo0094

Keep tying knots, repeating the rows of 2 knots and 3 knots until you have a few inches of yarn left.

  6. Small photo0095

End the scarf with a row of 3 knots. Trim all of the ends so that they are the same length.
