This painting was done using no brushes whatsoever. Just good old fashioned finger painting! You can use any kind of printed paper, I used some Japanese prints, OR you can paint your own... But prints are easier ;-)
This painting was done using no brushes whatsoever. Just good old fashioned finger painting! You can use any kind of printed paper, I used some Japanese prints, OR you can paint your own... But prints are easier ;-)
Cut out a strip of Japanese lettering - this can be printed out from the internet or (if you speak Japanese) write your own! Stick it down one side of your canvas/paper/card.
Using the gold paint begin to dab over the edges of the writing. The great thing about finger painting is getting messy and enjoying texture.
Now use the black paint to fill the majority of the background. Leave some places completely white BUT work quickly...
While the black is still wet add more gold paint over the top. Use lots of dabbing motions with your fingers to blend. Pop a few clusters of white as well.
Cut out a beautiful lady (again, the internet has some great images - just make sure you're not stealing someone else's work!) and carefully stick her down.
Using a gold pen draw in branches between the blossoms.
And you're done :)
