I really wanted to make a cameo but couldnt get to the craft store to buy some blanks, so having lots of fimo on hand decided to make my own.
I really wanted to make a cameo but couldnt get to the craft store to buy some blanks, so having lots of fimo on hand decided to make my own.
Take a blob of black fimo.
Lay some clingfilm down and place the fimo ball on it, cover with clingfilm and roll it flat into an oval shape. Leave the oval shape on the clingfilm while you decorate it so its easy to transfer to a baking tray.
Roll a thin strip of fimo into a long snake.
Take the snake and make tiny loops all around the edge of the oval, until you reach where you started, trim off any excess.
You should have a nice base now, to add a bit of character, make tiny purple balls and flatten them around the edge of the oval frame. Leave a bit of a gap between each one for the next step.
Now make teeny tiny white dots and flatten them in between all the purple dots. This is the result. You can add a clay skull or something in the middle at this stage or leave blank if adding a photo.
Place on a baking tray and back at 110C for 30mins. Allow to cool then glue your photo on or you can varnish it.
