About

This easy candle craft can be done for any holiday. Here, I show how to make Easter candles. I have included a free printable for making Easter candles and a free printable for making Christmas ones. You could also make candles for home decor by using free clipart on the Internet.

You Will Need (7 things)

  • 2.5 inch tall white pillar Candle
  • White Tissue Paper
  • One 8.5x11" Card Stock page
  • Scissors
  • Scotch Tape
  • Waxed Paper
  • Blow Dryer

Steps (8 steps, 20 minutes)

  1. 1

    Gather your supplies.

  2. 2

Cut a piece of white tissue paper that is a little bit smaller than a page of card stock paper. (I used tissue paper from a dollar store.)

Smooth out the tissue paper and tape it to the card stock. I put two fairly long pieces on the end of the card stock that went into the printer and two small ones along the sides.

  3. 3

Insert your card stock with the tissue paper tapped to it into your printer and print the graphics.

(A few wrinkles in the tissue paper won’t affect your candle.)

  4. 4

Cut around the graphics that you want to use. (You don’t have to cut exactly on the outline of the graphic. You can rough cut about 1/4 inch away from it so there is some white tissue paper around the design.)

  5. 5

Rip off about a 3 inch wide strip of wax paper.

Place the graphic on the candle. Put the wax paper on top of the graphic. Wrap the wax paper around the candle and grip it tightly around the candle. This is to hold the graphic in place. And, it will also help you hold the candle so your hand won’t get burned by the blow dryer!

  6. 6

Turn on the blow dryer and hold it really close to where the graphic is being held onto the candle.

The heat from the blow dryer will melt the candle wax. This will take about 30 seconds.

  7. 7

When you think that the wax is melted good enough under the entire graphic, stop the blow dryer.

Remove the wax paper. Press the tissue paper into the melted wax to make sure it will adhere to the candle.

    Let the candle cool.

And there’s your finished candle craft!

(If you want, you can put another graphic on the candle on the opposite side of the graphic you just put on the candle.)
