Winter is almost here and with little leftover fleece I had...I got inspired to create this. =)
Materials. .. * fleece rectangle 23 inch. By 11 inch. depending on your measurements * needle and thread ..matching color * pen or marker * measuring tape * scissors * sewing machine or permanent fabric glue
Measure around your head ...that # is going to be the length of your rectangle. Depending on how droopy you want your hat its how long the with of your rectangle. Mine is 12 in. Make sure you measure an extra 1/2 in. On all sides for seem.
Once measured and cut out your rectangle. Fold in half "hamburger style"
Pin and sew or glue the open sides together. 1/2 in. From the edge.
Once you have formed a cylinder type of thing turn inside out. Fold up about 1 in from one of the open sides.
On the opposite side from the fold, start making slits about 1/2 in. Apart Starting from the top
Take your needle and thread and about 1/2 from the slits start making a runner stitch.
Once you are done with the runner stitch, start gathering the fleece together, pulling the thread lightly.
Secure the gathering (now a pompom) with a few more stitches.
Now fluff out the pompom and hat and you are done !!
