This project cost me less than $ 2 to make. This holder was designed to hold "hook" or "dangle" earrings, NOT posts. It can be hung on the wall, or placed on a table top to stand upright. SUPPLIES NEEDED-- SKULL HOLDER- 1 multi-windowed photo frame Acrylic Paint Paint brushes Fine Silver Glitter Glue Button Embellishments Hot Glue Gun Hot Glue FOR BAT HOLDER: 1 multi-windowed photo frame Acrylic Paint Paint brushes Fine Black Glitter Glue Glitter Scrapbook Stickers Hot Glue Gun Hot Glue FOR SKULL HOLDER: I used a multi-windowed picture frame, which was black, and repainted (several coats) in royal purple acrylic paint. Once the paint was dry, I then lightly "fan brushed" white sequin acrylic paint from one side to the other (NOT back AND forth!). When the paint was dry, I then added dots along areas of the windows in the frames, using silver acrylic paint. When dry, I then went over the silver dots with fine silver glitter glue. I hot glued some button embellishments (with the hole where its sewn into material is cut off) in each top corner. I painted the "inside" of the back of the photo frame in the same base color as the frame, then used black plastic between frame and backing. FOR THE BAT HOLDER- I picked up a multi-windowed picture frame, black, and lightly "fan brushed" white sequin acrylic paint from one side to the other (NOT back AND forth!). I then added 3 black glitter scrapbook stickers- 1 star for the top of each side, and a bat in the center. I then used black fine glitter glue to make "dots" along the windows of the frame. I removed the back of the frame, and painted the "inside" black. Using this as a pattern, I cut the same size as the back of the frame with plastic (ugh, forget what its called)- which I used a white color. FOR BOTH STYLES OF HOLDERS- When everything (including glitter glue) was dry, I then turned the frame upside down and hot glued the plastic inside at the corners and the middle of each side. I then hot glued the back of the frame onto that. This creates enough space to allow for "dangle" or "hook" earrings to be placed, and still allow the frame to be used on a table top. It also has a hanger in the back should you wish to hang it on a wall. The time involved in the project was mostly having to wait for the glitter glue to dry.
