I'm working with middle schoolers this summer, and we needed an arts & crafts project that wasn't, well, lame. Through a little trial and error, we were able to come up with these fabulous accessories.
I'm working with middle schoolers this summer, and we needed an arts & crafts project that wasn't, well, lame. Through a little trial and error, we were able to come up with these fabulous accessories.
First, I outlined my dollar bill on the piece of paper, leaving about a quarter inch border around all four sides. Move it over, and do this again, so that the two outlines match up along the long edge. You now have a square-ish shape that should comfortably fit two dollar bills side-by-side.
Cut out the big square-ish outline, and tape one side completely with duct tape - one layer will suffice! Flip to other side and repeat.
Fold the duct taped paper in half, so that a dollar bill will fit inside comfortably. Tape up the sides, leaving the top open (be a little pointless if you couldn't get to the money, right?)
Because I was still bored, I added a bonus "hidden" pocket by outlining my library card (standard credit card size), duct taping that, and then attaching it to the right inside wall. I also used Sharpies to decorate, but it fades/smears fairly quickly.
