I made these shoelaces because the ones on my Converse were way too long and I didn't want to buy another pair. They were really easy to make and ended up really cute. I used turquoise, blue, and green, but you can use any colors you want. Make a pair to match every pair of sneakers you own. Feel free to comment, ask questions, and post versions below!

Gather your materials. Since I use a pocket knife, I do all of my duct tape projects on a cutting board, but you don't need one if you are using scissors. If you don't have a cutting board, just find a smooth surface that you don't mind getting scratched up. Cut 18 inches of Color A and 18 inches of Color B. I did 18 inches because I wanted shorter laces, but make them longer if you want long laces.
Using the yard/meter stick, cut from one corner to the opposite corner on each color. You will end up with four really long triangles.
Lay out the one triangle of Color A and one of B and overlap them slightly so that they form a rectangle. Do the same thing with the other two.
Stick the two rectangles together so that one of the colors forms a huge triangle and the other color forms two triangles that touch corners in the middle. Together these will form a long strip. This will be the length of each lace. If you are confused, look at this picture.
Cut horizontally across the long strip. This will form two strips that are the same size as the original strip, just skinnier.
Take one strip and roll it up so that you have one lace.
Stick the lace onto the bottom corner of the unrolled strip with one inch overlap. It should look like this.
Then roll it up like this so that you have one really long lace. This step is to make sure that the laces are the same thickness.
By now you should have a strip that is about twice the length that you want your laces to be.
Cut the long lace in half so that you have your two laces. Wrap a tiny piece of tape in Color C around each end to form aglets on each shoelace.
Throw away the disgusting, destroyed laces on your favorite shoes and prepare to receive compliments on your awesome shoelaces!
