I love playing around with duct tape, and one day I decided to try and make a classic beach bag. By using the duct tape and garbage bags I made it waterproof for all the wet clothes you may need to carry. Sorry no images on the How-to. It may take you longer because duct tape can be hard to work with. Please post a comment if you need help, and your version so I can see it.

Take the garbage bag and cut up one side and down the bottom to make one long strip. Tape the sheet flat to your workspace (I used the kitchen floor). Mark a 16-by-30 inch rectangle on the plastic. Cover the rectangle with 30 inch strips (to cover it long ways), slightly overlapping the last strip. You can alternate colors or create your own pattern. Just have fun with it.
When the is done, cut out the tape rectangle from the remaining plastic. Make sure you even out the 16 inch edges.
Lay 2 strands of the cord/rope on the 16 inch side about 1 in from the edge. Fold the edge over the cord/rope and tape it down to make a casing. Repeat on the other side.
Fold the bag over so the 16 in sides are together (right side out). Tape the sides together to form the bag.
To make the drawstring. On each side, pair up one cord from each casing to one from the other casing and knot together at both ends. Repeat until all cords are knotted. Pull opposite cords on opposite sides to cinch the bag. Now you have an awesome beach bag/grocery bag.
