I to collect orchids. Eventually one started to molt, but I still liked how the fallen flower looked, so I sealed a bunch of the with packing tape, and later decided to make charms out of them.
Use a dry flower that contains very little to no moisture ( if it stil contains a lot of water ,then it will later rot)
Cut a piece of packing tape that is about 5 in long, or bigger depending of the size of your flower.
Lightly place your flower, face up, towards the end of your tape with some room to spare.
Carefully fold the tape over so that the bottom of the tape is directly over the top. Then start smoothly flatening the folded tape together, starting and the folded C side.
Carefully smooth out the tape so that there are no air bubbles trapped in the tape. It is ok if there is a thin air line around the flower its self.
Bubble cut around the flower, while leaving some room where you want the top of the charm to be.
Cut closer along the flower, but not to close, or ese the 2 pieces of tape will come apart. And again, leave room where you want the top of your charm to be.
Use a pin or a needle to poke a hole through the top blank piece of tape, where you left some space.
Take a jewlery hoop and connect it to the hole that you just made with a pin.
