I sewed everything by hand. the dolls, the clothes, that's why it took forever. I used whatever scraps I had, so there is a huge mix. In my German Literature class our final was to create a scene from any of the stories/books we read for class. we could use any medium we wanted. painting, music, reenactment (in class or video), etc... I chose sewing. the scene I chose was Der Traum. when the main character tries to kill himself in the River, Die Elbe, and she rejects his suicide. the river is represented as a women, but no description is given (we had many discussions in class of how she could be portrayed). the book has been a movie and play. I enjoyed reading it.
