This prop was created for my son's Halloween (2013) costume. Feel free to share the how-to if you need something for a cosplay. The most expensive items were the duct tape rolls.

You can get the foam pieces at any craft store or Walmart. If you can't find the cylinder or semi-sphere you can get the disks and the foam ball. You would have to cut the balls in half with a serrated knife or hacksaw. With that out of the way... Glue pieces together. I glued one side together first, let it dry for a bit then glue the other semi-sphere. Let it set for about 20-30 minutes.
This is how the glued piece should look. Next get the duct tapes and scissors out.
Choose a side you want to start on. Cut the pieces of duct tape. Stick half of the strip down and make sure it overlaps a bit onto the cylinder. The top part of the strip, cut notches so that the tape lays a bit flatter onto the curve of the sphere.
Wrap more pieces and notch the strips on the curved end. Next wrap the duct tape around the cylinder part, overlapping as you go, until you get halfway down the pill. Repeat for the other side.
Tadaa! The finished pill. You can make it as long or as big as you want depending on the size of the foam pieces. It is super lightweight and fits in the lab coat pockets (if your coat has pockets).
