I'm going to add one as soon as I get one that looks good. Right now I've just got a new job (ugh) and though I still get to do crafts, it's not an all day thing. And Dorodango take sooo much time for each one!
so when are you going to add your own tutorial? i think they look really cool, and i was looking at the how-to you left a link for, but it was difficult to understand sometimes.
I know! We have a ton of those cannonballs around (for some reason) and it was odd how similar they looked. I actually cheated a bit on another dorodango I made and it turned out SO COOL! It was metallic SILVER! I'm doing more to see if I can make 'em look cooler with different colors, but I can't wait to show my secret ingrediant!
I just used back yard dirt. It's Louisiana, so it's sandy clay. Very red clay. I'm surprised it isn't red.
As for durability, I don't think it's that durable, but it's a lot stronger than I would have thought. It's no dirt clod. But, with water or a good drop, I'm sure it'll be dust in the wind.
I like it! Its so completely random and SHINEH! lol.
Thats actually really cool how its just dirt and water... and it creates a very old metal look..
OH I KNOW, I thought it reminded me of something when I saw it, with the bumps and the very reduced shine, one of those REALLY old cannon balls!
