Description

You're dog will look great in it's one-of-a-kind collars. Don't be scared off by the many steps, they're really very easy and quick to make.

Instructions

  1. Small halsband 001 1252847352

You'll need canvas or nylon strapping, a D-ring, a pilot clip and fabric. Measure how long the collar should be and add app. 5-6 cm.

  2. Small halsband 002 1252847358

Cut out a strip of fabric of 2 times the width of the strapping + seam allowance. Put the strip facing down on the strapping app. 4-5 mm from the edge. (Alternatively: cut a strip as wide as the strapping. Sew it on the strapping. Sew bias tape on both sides and continue with step 9).

  3. Small halsband 003 1252847529

Sew the fabric on the strapping.

  4. Small halsband 004 1252847593

Fold the fabric back like in the picture.

  5. Small halsband 005 1252847653

    Fold a hem...

  6. Small halsband 006 1252847689

... and fold it on the strapping.

  7. Small halsband 009 1252847720

    Sew it.

  8. Small halsband 010 1252847744

    Topstitch the other side.

  9. Small halsband 011 1252847894

Push the collar through one side of the pilot clip and sew as close to the clip as possible.

  10. Small halsband 012 1252847870

Slide the D-ring on the collar and sew in place as close to the clip as possible. Take the other part of the pilot clip and sew in place on the other side.

  11. Small halsband 013 1252847937

Cut off excess material on both sides and use a lighter or match to meld the edges of the strapping to avoid fringing.

  12. Small halsband 016 1252848054

Done! (Guus was in no mood to pose though, tired from chasing a rabbit)
