Doctor Who is one of my fave shows on tv. I remember some of the Classic Who episodes from when I was younger but I have been completely enthralled since it's reboot in 2005. It has brought me much joy and tears and frustrations over the years and continues to do so. I decided to make something to wear that shows my Whovian nature and I think these Doctor Who inspired Hair Sticks are cool ^.~ I had a bag of miscellaneous chopsticks that I had picked up at a thrift store,I knew I could do something with them. This set is a bamboo set, which I washed well prior to painting. The longest part of this project was waiting for the paint and the varnish to dry. I painted the chopsticks white before painting on the blue to try and keep down the amounts of coats I needed to apply for even coverage. Once dry a set to work painting on the details and outlining. When all that was dry, I applied two even coats of varnish all over to protect them. Lastly I applied a small seed bead to the top of the TARDIS stick to make it look even more authentic. I think it adds a nice touch. I attached the bead using varnish. Applied it when varnish was wet and then coated it in several coats of varnish (drying between coats) Now I can show my Whovian pride and look pretty while doing it :)
