I can't remember where I first saw this, but these have been done before. Here's my version of quick n easy wands for those who have not yet had a chance to visit Ollivander's. Start with your plain chopstick. Before you even pick up that glue gun, please read this: I cannot stress enough how cautious you must be while handling a hot glue gun. Make sure you have a safe place to set it while it's on and watch out for drips. Melty glue that is hot as the ninth layer of hell will find your bare feet and any fingers that are in the way. Plug in the glue gun and wait 'til it's ready to go. Very carefully, holding the chopstick at the skinny end, start streaming the hot glue on the thick end of the chopstick. Wait a few moments for the glue to harden and then continue adding more glue, swirling and arranging it with the gun nozzle as you go, until you are satisfied with the result. Be sure to wait in between glue bursts to allow the layers to build up a bit so that you can add dimension and texture to your wand. After you're done with the hot glue, it's time to add some color to your wand. I used acrylic paints and permanent markers (Sharpies work great) in various shades of brown and worked on it until I was happy with the result.
