I have been needing a new headboard for some time and I figured why not make one myself? This project was around $50 compared to over $300 HUGE difference!
I have been needing a new headboard for some time and I figured why not make one myself? This project was around $50 compared to over $300 HUGE difference!
First measure your mattress width and decide how large you want your headboard to be. I used painters tape to help me determine how large I wanted it to be. For a full size bed I got a piece of plywood that measured 2 feet by 4.9 feet
You will need a piece of high density foam the same size as your plywood as well as enough batting and fabric to cover BOTH the plywood and foam.
Using spray adhesive attach your foam to your piece of plywood. Next use a staple gun to wrap the batting Around the board from the foam side. Repeat step with the fabric of your choice. I used an upholstery fabric that was only $5 a yard! Steal! The picture will hopefully help all you visual people.
Mount on the wall and enjoy your new headboard that you made yourself!
