Update a boring TV console to a bright piece with gold accents!
I had this TV console table that I had received from someone for free. It was in good shape, I just wanted a brighter look for my living room so I picked it out for a revamp. Also, each coat of paint or sealant takes about 10 mins only but the drying time is where you have to wait so the project would take you about a day.
Set out your console in an area where you can make a mess.
Because the table already had a laminate surface and not untreated wood I obviously had to prime it first so the paint would catch on. I got a two-in-one paint + primer solution and did it in one go. After three coats this beauty was ready.
Then I sealed it with a waterbased protective finish in clear semi gloss.
Then I took off the legs. I would have taken them off prior to the painting but I wanted to paint the bottom and needed the height so the paint could dry fully before touching any surface.
And spray painted them in gold.
Then I moved the legs inwards a bit (not as close to the edge as earlier) and install them asymmetrically like this.
I let it sit overnight for all paint to cure fully and the next day it was ready!
