Spray paint 3 cable hooks and the screws that go with them, and your metal ring the color of your choice. Cut your wood legs to 55 inches long at a 5 degree angle at each end (in opposite directions.)
Have a buddy hold the legs up in the position they will be in, and decide the height of your metal ring. Mine was 15 inches from the ground, but you will want to make sure the legs of your lamp are wide enough to stand up and be sturdy.
Cut a scrap piece of wood into a triangle that is 3 3/4 inches on each side and then cut the points off 3/4 in at a 10 degree angle. Predrill holes at the tops of each leg and into the triangle you just cut going very slowly so you don't split the wood. Attach the legs.
Place your metal ring into the cable clips and press them so that they clamp the ring.
Add your light kit according to the instructions.
