I just love this new member of my DIY family. The color is perfect for the Autumn and the quality of the leather is amazing. Can you believe I bought this leather piece on a flea market for only 1€($2)? The cute bug-brooch was also a flea market bargain. So altogether my DIY clutch cost less than 10€($13). I think that is a great deal for a cute handmade clutch. If you are looking for some leather pieces for this tutorial you can find great deals on your E-bay or Etsy.com. But of course you can use any thick material like felt or PVC sheets instead of leather. Make sure to use leather needle for your sewing machine. If you don't have a sewing machine you can use a strong glue or glue gun to close the seams. Enjoy and be creative!

You will need a piece of leather or similar, pen, strong glue, scissors, brooch, metal zipper, ruler.
Measure your zipper and draw 2 rectangles on the wrong side of the leather with the width of the zipper + 1cm (1/2") seam allowance on each side
The rectangles should have 5 cm (2") difference.
Apply thin line of glue to the zipper and glue it to the leather pieces.
Sew along the zipper. Make sure to use leather needle.
Secure the ends of the zipper with glue.
Apply thin line of glue to all edges.
Fold the side together and wait until the glue dries.
Cut thin leather stripe and put it through the pull zipper
Cut a small leather rectangle with fringe.
Apply glue to the edge of the fringe.
Roll the fringe around the strap on the zipper to make a tassel.
Now sew along the edges. Secure the zipper ends with double stitching.
Trim the edges.
Attach a little brooch to the clutch.
Finished!
