You Will Need (1 thing)
- Sweater
Steps (11 steps, 120 minutes)

After washing, cut off the sleeves and the neck of your thrift store sweater. If your sweater is 80% or more wool, it will felt after you wash and dry it. This means the fibers will become tight and it won't fray.
You can save the sleeves to make boot socks.

Decide how big you’d like your bag and cut identical pieces from your sweater, interfacing and lining. You’ll need two of each.
I used handles cut from an old thrift store bag, but you can choose any kind of handles you'd like.
-
3
Place right sides of sweater together, sandwich it between the interfacing and stitch around three sides, leaving the top open.
-
4
Stitch the bottom corners diagonally.
-
5
Right sides together, stitch three sides of the lining, leaving an the top open and an opening in the bottom.
-
6
Turn the sweater inside out, using ribbon or pieces from the sweater pin handles and slide sweater into lining so right sides are together.
-
7
Pin and sew lining to sweater at the top.
-
8
Turn everything right side out through the hole left in the lining piece.
-
9
Pin and sew the hole in the lining seam.

I used mine to carry my laptop all winter long.

Then I gave the sleeves to my friend as a hostess gift and she just slipped them over her boots to make boot socks. CUTE!!!
