Get ready for this cool DIY tutorial! Sew your own beach bag with plenty of space for your towels, bikinis, bathing suits, books and sunscreen. This easy step by step tutorial will show you how to sew your companion for a day at sea, a pool party or even a city trip.
Cut the fabrics (both the main fabric for your bag and the lining fabric) as seen on the picture. The long rectangular piece is for the bottom and both side parts of your bag. If you like to apply some pieces of fabric remnants on the front of your bag, then cut 6 cm wide pieces from the remnants too.
Take the pieces from your fabric remnants (I took 2 long and 2 short pieces) and apply them to the front piece of your bag, by wrapping the sides for 1 cm and sewing them on along the border.
Now it's time to sew your lining on your 3 bag pieces. Just pin the lining fabric pieces on your main fabric by sewing a rolled hem.
Sew together all of the three pieces and serge the edges.
Finish the top edges by sewing a rolled hem (width should be about 2-3 cm).
Take the 1 m long band and cut it in half. Then sew on the handle. Ready - I hope you enjoy making your beach bag!
