When I realized I had quite a couple of doilies left over from those rendezvous tea parties, I didn't have the heart to throw them away seeing the pretty cut-out trim. That's how I probably struck on this oh-so-simple idea. This is a fabulous paper/fabric scrap buster project as well and you can make lots of these depending on the amount of baubles you wish to corral! :)

You Will Need (6 things)
- A pair of Scissors
- A pencil & a Ruler
- Pretty Fabric /paper scraps
- Rectangular Paper Doilies
- An empty tin Can (I grabbed an empty corn can)
- A Glue Stick
Steps (5 steps, 5 minutes)
-
1
Begin by gathering your supplies. I didn't really need a pencil and a ruler since I just eyeballed the measurement but if you're really into making sure everything's perfect then go ahead!

2
Align the fabric/ paper along the curved surface area of the tin can and cut to size.

Glue it down. An important thing to keep in mind if you have a design like mine is which part you'd like to show of your pattern. I wanted my roses on the paper to still be visible after adding the doily on the base which is why I aligned the paper that way.

Trim the doily to size (to fit the circumference of the tin) and glue it down. Let dry for a few minutes and fill it up with your pencils and pens!

I covered a shoe box with plain paper as well and used sharpies coordinating with my pencil cup to color in some roses on top for extra storage! I also lined up the sides using pink duct tape!
If you happen to have circular doilies at hand, then they make exceptionally cute journal tabs in my opinion, cut a little curved edge and glue down onto the first page of the different sections you want your journal to have to keep clear & cute segregation!
